LUCIN, Box Elder County — Miles away from civilization, gargantuan cylinders intersect to form an X across the arid desert floor. Near Wendover, Utah, these four concrete barrels are configured in an axis to circularly frame the landscape as the sun rises and sets. Together, these structures are known as the Sun Tunnels. Created by artist Nancy Holt in 1976, the work has long been considered an indispensable part of the iconic land art movement. Now, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts is inviting the public to participate in a unique artistic experience.
